About This Place
Quinta Fonte Funda is a one-hectare off-grid quinta set on the edge of a small village in the Gardunha mountain range. Terraced stone walls, fruit trees and olive groves shape the land, creating several peaceful camping spots, each with its own outlook and character.
The quinta is lived on full-time and has a calm, welcoming atmosphere, while still offering guests space and privacy. Walking and mountain-bike routes begin directly from the land, with village cafés, shops and fresh bread close by. A spring-fed plunge pool, a nearby village font, and a short walk to the local river beach offer simple ways to cool off and enjoy fresh mountain water year-round.

Good to Know
Access
The final access track is steep and narrow. A 4×4 is recommended in wet months. Small campervans are fine; motorhomes and larger vehicles are not suitable. (Max VW T5 size)
Choosing a pitch
Guests are welcome to choose where they’d like to set up across the different terraces. Some spots sit closer to the village with open views, while others are lower down and more secluded among the trees.
Facilities
Guests have access to a shared cabin with washing-up area, bath, shower and state-of-the-art composting toilet.
Water
Tap water is available on site. Fresh mountain spring water can also be collected from the village font next to the quinta.
Swimming
A spring-fed plunge pool is available on the land. A river beach (praia fluvial) is located around 150 metres away.
Local Area
Cafés, bars, a village shop and daily bread collection are a short walk away. Fundão is a five-minute drive, with wider services and a weekly market.
