These Terms & Conditions govern the use of Untamed Portugal (“the Platform”).
By using this website, making a booking, or registering as a Host, you agree to these Terms.
1. Platform Role
Untamed Portugal operates as an intermediary platform connecting independent landowners (“Hosts”) and travellers (“Guests”) for private, low-impact stays on private land.
Untamed Portugal does not own, manage, inspect, operate, or control any listed land.
All locations are independently offered by Hosts. Hosts remain fully responsible for:
The condition and safety of their land
Compliance with local laws and regulations
Accuracy of listing information
Rules applicable to their land
Untamed Portugal facilitates introductions, bookings, and payment processing only.
2. Eligibility
By using the Platform, you confirm that:
You are at least 18 years old
You are legally capable of entering into binding agreements
Any information you provide is accurate and truthful
3. Host Responsibilities
Hosts are solely responsible for:
Ensuring their land use complies with applicable Portuguese laws
Ensuring their land is reasonably safe for temporary stays
Clearly communicating access instructions and boundaries
Setting and enforcing site-specific rules
Determining availability and accepting or declining booking requests
Untamed Portugal does not guarantee the legality, safety, or suitability of any listed location.
Hosts remain independent parties and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Untamed Portugal.
4. Guest Responsibilities
Guests are responsible for:
Complying with all host rules
Respecting agreed boundaries and access instructions
Following local laws and seasonal restrictions (including fire regulations)
Exercising personal judgment and care while staying on rural land
Leaving no trace and removing all waste
Guests acknowledge that stays take place on private, natural land which may include uneven ground, wildlife, limited facilities, and environmental risks.
Guests accept responsibility for their own safety and conduct.
5. Bookings & Payments
All payments are processed securely via Stripe.
Untamed Portugal collects payment on behalf of the Host and transfers the Host’s share after the stay is completed, minus the agreed platform commission.
Untamed Portugal does not store full debit or credit card details.
A booking is confirmed only once payment has been successfully processed.
6. Cancellations
Unless otherwise stated on a specific listing, the following cancellation terms apply:
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before arrival: Full refund (minus any non-refundable payment processing fees).
Cancellations made between 24–72 hours before arrival: 50% refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before arrival: No refund.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method.
Untamed Portugal reserves the right to cancel a booking where necessary for safety, legal, weather, environmental, or conduct-related reasons.
7. Conduct & Account Suspension
Untamed Portugal is built on trust, respect, and low-impact principles.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove access to the Platform for any user who:
Violates host rules
Causes damage to land or property
Acts in a way that threatens safety or trust
Misrepresents themselves or provides false information
Fails to respect environmental or fire safety guidelines
Untamed Portugal may refuse future bookings at its discretion where conduct does not align with the spirit of the Platform.
8. Liability
Untamed Portugal acts solely as a facilitator between Hosts and Guests.
Untamed Portugal is not liable for:
Injury, accident, loss, or damage occurring on Host land
The condition, safety, or legality of listed locations
The conduct of Hosts or Guests
Disputes between Hosts and Guests
Weather conditions, fire bans, or environmental events
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.
Guests stay at their own risk. Hosts are responsible for their land.
9. Disputes
Guests and Hosts agree to attempt to resolve disputes directly between themselves.
Untamed Portugal may assist at its discretion but is not obligated to mediate or resolve disputes.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, branding, and imagery (unless provided by Hosts), remains the property of Untamed Portugal.
Content may not be copied or reproduced without permission.
11. Changes to These Terms
Untamed Portugal reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.
The most current version will always be available on this page.
Continued use of the Platform indicates acceptance of any changes.
