Untamed Portugal is run by us — Ollie and Lucia.

Moving to Portugal was always part of the bigger dream for us. In 2025, we spent months driving up and down the country, staying in the van, exploring different regions and trying to understand where we might one day put down roots.

Along the way, we kept finding the same problem. The most beautiful places were often hard to find, and the places that were easy to book didn’t always give us the quiet, private, natural feeling we were looking for.

At the same time, when we were apart, we spent hours on FaceTime talking about buying land one day — somewhere simple, creative and close to nature. We both liked the idea of hosting people, but not in a loud or complicated way. We imagined something quieter, more personal and more respectful of the land.

Untamed grew from those conversations.

It became a way to connect people looking for peaceful stays with landowners who have special private places to share, one booking at a time, with clear permission, simple expectations and care for the place.

We are in the process of renting out our home and shifting more of our life towards Portugal, spending as much time as possible on the road, meeting hosts, visiting land and building Untamed from the ground up.

Mana, our dog, is part of the journey too, usually the first to test the shade, sniff out the best walking paths and quietly judge whether a place feels right for future dog-friendly stays.

For us, this is not just a booking website. It is a way of life we are slowly moving towards ourselves.

We are not trying to build a big, faceless platform.

We are building something slower, more careful and more human — one stay, one host and one piece of land at a time.
