Good to Know
Parking & Access:
The drive from Arouca takes around 30 minutes on paved mountain roads. The final section climbs into the mountains with steep bends and a narrower approach into the village. Best suited to cars, rooftop tents and small campervans, not large vans or motorhomes.
Fires & Cooking:
Raised BBQs or fire bowls may only be used outside summer fire season and only when conditions are safe. No open fires, disposable BBQs, charcoal BBQs or wood burning during summer fire season.
Water & Toilet:
Non-drinking water is available on site. There is no toilet, so guests must be fully self-contained and leave no waste on the land.
The Stay:
This is a simple mountain adventure, not a campsite. The village is uninhabited, the land is unfenced, and the camping area is set across old stone terraces beside the stream. Come prepared for a quiet, self-sufficient stay.
Shade & Sun:
In summer, this is a dry, golden mountain setting with limited natural shade. Bring shade or a tarp if you want extra cover during the day.
Weather & Arrival:
Fog can sometimes reduce visibility in spring and autumn. Daylight arrival is strongly recommended so guests can find the village, park easily and settle in before dark.
