Secret Cauldron is a deeply secluded mountain stay hidden within the Serra do Caldeirão. The camping area sits beside a small natural watering hole, surrounded by woodland, open hills and almost complete silence.
Private trails run through cork oak, pine and wild herbs, leading to viewpoints across the valley and deeper into the 68-hectare estate. Wildlife moves freely across the land, and after dark the lack of nearby light makes the skies especially clear.
This is a truly off-grid place for guests who want privacy, space and the feeling of being completely away from everything.

Access is via a gravel mountain track and requires a 4×4 vehicle. Not suitable for standard cars or vans.

There are no facilities on site. This is a fully off-grid stay. Drinking water can be collected from the host’s house nearby.

Private trails run through the land, leading to viewpoints across the Serra and down into the valley. The terrain is rugged and best suited to confident walkers.

– Human waste must never be left behind. Use a portable toilet or a sealed waste bag and pack out all waste, including toilet paper and wipes.
