Freedom Valley – Povoa de Sao Cosmo, Central Portugal

€40 per night (for the pitch, includes 2 people)

Untamed stay — terraces, oak shade and dark skies

About This Place

Freedom Valley sits at the bottom of a quiet valley below the small village of Povoa de Sao Cosmo in central Portugal. The camping area is around 300–400 metres from the house on a series of terraced slopes shaded by young oak trees.

The first part of the track can be reached by normal car or van, but the final section down to the terraces is rough and best suited to 4×4 vehicles or campers comfortable with uneven tracks. Guests with tents can also park higher up and walk down to the camping area.

It’s a peaceful and slightly wild setting with very little light pollution, making it an ideal place to slow down and enjoy the quiet of the valley.
